This policy explains how Walk collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Walk mobile application and related services.
Information we collect
- Account and profile information, including your name, email address provided by your login provider, profile photo, bio, and account identifiers.
- Content you create, including posts, stories, photos, videos, comments, messages, reactions, trips, activities, and privacy selections.
- Foreground location when you choose a location-based feature, plus destinations, searched places, trip locations, and optional media location tags.
- Social and safety information, including follows, selected audiences, blocks, reports, moderation decisions, and related audit records.
- Technical information needed to operate Walk, including sessions, device identifiers, push tokens, delivery receipts, upload status, and diagnostic events.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate accounts, deliver and personalize Walk features, generate trips, display social content, provide messaging and notifications, enforce privacy choices, prevent abuse, resolve support requests, and maintain service reliability.
Service providers
Walk uses vetted providers for authentication, cloud hosting and storage, video processing, push notifications, maps and place search, image sourcing, artificial-intelligence processing, and operational moderation. They process information only as needed to provide their services under their own terms and privacy obligations.
Location, photos, and notifications
Walk requests foreground location and photo-library access only when you use a feature that needs them. Walk does not request continuous background location for this release. Notification permission is optional and can be changed in device or Walk settings.
Sharing and visibility
Your visibility choices control who can discover content through Walk. Shared links contain opaque references rather than storage or media addresses, and access is checked again after the viewer signs in. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so avoid publishing information you do not want your selected audience to retain.
Retention and deletion
We retain information while needed to provide Walk, meet safety and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and preserve moderation records. You can request account deletion from Walk settings. Deletion revokes active sessions and removes or anonymizes account-linked information from active product surfaces while limited safety, fraud-prevention, and audit records may be retained where necessary.
Your choices
You can edit profile information, change content visibility, manage notification preferences, block users, report content, remove your content, and request account deletion from the app. You may also contact us about access, correction, deletion, or privacy concerns.
Children
Walk is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to applicable law, contact us.
Changes
We may update this policy as Walk changes. Material updates will be reflected by a new effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
